I have a bit of craft frustration.

I've been trying to get this big granny square afghan up and done. But every time I start and restart it just never works. I know how to make a granny square but when I get to the 9th round no matter what it gets all crazy and deformed.

I've tried basically everything it does it no matter what. Its super disappointing. And I don't know how to fix it. So I guess I just can't do it at all. I tried even doing it in a circle and still it went all cockeyed.

I am so frustrated with it all that I am just not gonna crochet for awhile and focus on reading books instead. But crap I wanted to get this stupid project done and its not working for the life of me! Ughhhh I hate that. Anyone else have that happen?

the joys of family...

I have written about my family issues before. This weekend more are happening!

My grandma is totally losing it. My grandpa still isn't better has fluid on the lungs. My aunt (that isn't blood and kinda drives everyone nuts) has been going with my grandparents to the doctor appointments. Found out because grandma is taking bits and pieces of things and making up her own account of what has been said.

Its like she doesn't want to admit things are happening. But she also doesn't seem like she cares that much. I dunno what her deal Is but its going crazy around here.

Saturday my aunt called mom saying that my uncle took grandpa to the hospital again because he can't breathe pretty much at all since he has so much fluid in his lungs and its freaking him out. So that was that. And my mom is usually the one that no one contacts or pays attention to at all for whatever reason. My uncle got onto my grandma about the fact that she wasn't calling my mom about this. He got REALLY mad at her. He asked grandma if she was going to call mom and shes all no I’ll call her tonight. And hes like “no mom don't you understand how important this is?!” so for once someone vouched for my mom which is good but weird. I dunno shes going super insane, I dunno what my grandma is thinking or feeling but now shes playing the victim. Mom went to the hospital and then her brother motioned to her to come talk to him. And he was totally melting down and talking to my mom which NEVER happens. So its just really weird but I guess its good. But now grandma thinks mom and my uncle are conspiring against her. I dunno its all blowing my mind honestly. Now shes going back to not talking to mom at all for whatever reason. I think she thinks everyone wants to take all her stuff. Which is stupid cause one thing most of her “stuff” is crap. But there are no plans in place for anything. They are getting older and no one knows anything. Its between mom and my uncle. My other aunt isn't even in control of her own medical decisions cause of her MS. Oh golly its just a huge mess. And my granny is going off the deep end. I hope she snaps out of it. Cause my great grandma had to be institutionalized I never knew her. But she had major issues and that’s just what happened.

I just wish my grandma cared or anything. She doesn't seem like she cares about anything. She kinda doesn't have any type of maternal bone in her body. Which is hard. But its also hard when she mixes everything up then gets super defensive. Thats part of the reason why I don't want to go see her at all. I mean its not like she was ever a grandma to me. We didn't do anything with her. She sat us in front of the TV and that was that. Oi what a great big mess.

If anyone feels inclined to pray for my grandpa/family that would be great.

Oh my.

Hi new followers welcome, sorry this post is kinda weird/ random.... but what you see is what you get with me i guess haha!

Sometimes my dreams are super weird/crazy.

I had a dream that kind of continued from a dream I had I don't remember when. And now i'm not totally sure how it was attached. But anyways.

A lot of things happened in this dream. Part of it was I was in a big house and then trying to get clothes on cause some person was coming over. And this person I guess my mom was trying to get me to wear certain things and then we switched clothes but I couldn't find her skinny jeans. And in this dream I was not as big as I am currently. So that was weird. Anyways there were no skinny jeans to be found cause they were dirty. Then it switched to a part where this guy was always pestering me. He lived in the house wasn't related though. He was just mean.

And in the basement of this huge house were chickens, and chicken food. Which was gross cause there were maggots in it. He laughed that I was so grossed out. So I never went down there again. And suddenly this mean guy was into me and we were together. We went out with some people came back and then somehow we were having some sort of fight not a mean fight but like there were sprinklers and they were shooting blue paint. And after awhile I was just tired of getting all shot with the paint. And then I went to the house where this guy was. In the dream he sorta looked like wilke from switched at birth.

I was sorta having a melt down. And then we were kissing and making out and ended up jumping into a pool and making out there. And then we were done with that and in the house and I really wanted to ask him what made him like me so much now. And I never got to that before I woke up. So weird.

Litfuse blog tour : Postcards from Misty Harbor In Series

Guideposts Books is celebrating the release of their new Postcards from Misty Harbor Inn series with a fun giveaway and a Facebook party on May 9th.

For this Blog tour we were sent the first two books in the Misty Harbor Inn series. These novels in the series are written by Evangeline Kelley which is a pen name for these 4 authors collaborating together. Patti Berg, Pam Andrews & Barbara Hanson, and Camy Tang. The First two books that are in the series are:

Seaside Harmony:

"Three sisters, a charming inn, hints of mystery and romance, and a gorgeous seaside setting. Summer reading at its finest!
When Caroline Marris joins her sisters, Gracie Gold and Sam Carter for a Nantucket Island getaway, she has no idea how it will change her life. The sisters stumble upon Misty Harbor Inn, the place their late mother loved so much, and Caroline talks her sisters into buying the beautiful but dilapidated inn. But can free-spirited Caroline stay focused enough to make opening the inn a reality? Hand-drawn old postcards draw the sisters into the mystery of Hannah Montague, the young widow of the original owner. Can the sisters uncover the fate of this woman who disappeared in 1880? As Caroline and her sisters work together to make their mom's dream a reality, they bond in ways they never expected.
Readers will delight in the inviting setting and be enthralled by the adventures of these sisters who reunite to bring their mother's Misty Harbor dreams to life." Book Description from Amazon.

My Thoughts:

Right from the very beginning I was involved in this story. Usually with most books it takes a little bit to ramp up your curiosity but with seaside harmony it was there from the beginning. The writing flowed so nicely and there weren't any complaints about how it was written at all. I love that it has an air of mystery and the sisters are just a joy to read about. There isn't anything that's really super humorous or spectacular about it but it still is a great book to read. It was a pretty quick read and I would totally recommend it for anyone that was a simple non complicated fiction novel.

Sunflower Summer:

"Three sisters, a charming inn, hints of mystery and romance, and a gorgeous seaside setting. Summer reading at its finest!
Misty Harbor Inn officially opens, and Gracie Gold, the middle Marris sister, wrestles with an overwhelming decision. As the sisters learn the day-to-day workings of running an inn, Gracie counsels its first guests, newlyweds whose honeymoon seems to be ending before it begins. Meanwhile, Sam's discovery of a clue in a secret room sheds unflattering light on Hannah Montague, who vanished from the house more than one hundred years ago. And as Gracie and Caroline welcome guests to the inn, they are delighted to see how God uses it -- and them -- to deepen relationships and transform lives.
Readers will delight in the inviting setting and be enthralled by the adventures of these sisters who reunite to bring their mother's dream to reality." -Book description from Amazon.

My thoughts:

It was great to read about the sisters again and not have to wait months! This one was more exciting with much more things happening in the novel. But its also much shorter than the first “seaside harmony” that part I wasn't too fond of since I wanted more and more of these sisters and their inn. There are moments you want to just cheer for what happens next with the lovely sisters. Its just a great novel period.

A Healing Heart Blog Tour

This week, the
Christian Fiction Blog Alliance
is introducing
A Healing Heart
Abingdon Press (April 1, 2013)
by
Angela Breidenbach

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Angela Breidenbach is a speaker/coach in mental and physical health, author of A Healing Heart April 2013 from Abingdon Press in the Quilts of Love series, Gems of Wisdom: For a Treasure-filled Life, Creative Cooking for Simple Elegance, and Creative Cooking for Colitis. Other works by Angela include compilation books and devotionals from Guidepost, Group, and articles in magazines, ezines, and newspapers. She is certified in mentor/peer counseling as a CTA life coach, as a Stephen Minister, and a weight loss/nutrition coach. Angela serves as an assisting minister (worship/prayer leader) for her congregation in Missoula, MT. Not only did she walk the hard line of deciding to donate her mom’s brain for the study of schizophrenia, but she’s also on the brain donation list at the Brain Bank-Harvard McLean Hospital.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Mara Keegan is an uber-successful mother and a widow of three years. She's been chasing success and all the "good things in life" for her family to make up for the cruel whim God played on them by taking her husband. In an effort to be the perfect mom, she decides to make a photo memory quilt, a graduation present for her daughter, Cadence.

She’s not yet finished when she experiences a heart attack. While Mara recuperates, she revisits the choices she's made that led to this physically and spiritually broken heart. The memory quilt must be finished in time for Cadence's big day, but Mara struggles with her burgeoning feelings for the man who must keep Mara's business going during her recovery, Joel Ryan. Can Joel find his way into Mara's heart and onto Cadence's quilt?

My Thoughts:

This is a book from abingdon's quilts of love series. Its kinda like the “love finds you” series from summerside. I love those so I was super curious to see what abingdons series would be like. This is the first novel i've read from this series and it was a great and fast read. I've never heard of Angela Breidenbach before, but as an introduction to her writing I was pleasantly surprised. The story was one you instantly get drawn into, no lull at any point and really humorous at times.  I wasn't a huge fan of the cover, I am drawn to a lot of books by the cover and this one wouldn't have drawn me in just by looking at it. The description did draw me in though, and the book was amazing! A little too short for my liking though. It was only 221 pages and I generally would love a 300 page novel. But it was a quick and great read.

its really irritating...

when you can't move around or do things the way you want. since i hurt my foot/ankle (mostly my foot) i just can't do everything i want to do. and its really frustrating to me.

so last wednesday my poor sweet dog had her tooth extracted. it was so difficult to see how out of it she was with the anesthesia and the drugs.

poor girl couldn't control herself at all, she pooped cause she couldn't get up. and her poor somewhat bloody tongue was hanging out cause she still couldn't control it at times. oi it was horrible!

add that to me not being able to move around so well and my foot is pretty bruised up. i keep freaking out about it since its been a week and my foot isn't all THAT better. but i can walk on it without pain for the most part. but it is pretty green/purple. that didn't start happening til a few days ago though. i guess its just really super bruised. its also swollen which is really awkward feeling. blah.

this weekend the boy and i have a packed schedule. we are gonna go to the tulips and the spring fair. i just hope my foot holds up. not sure how its gonna play out. hoping for the best though.

i started a new blanket but i keep getting frustrated with it. i'm making a huge granny square blanket. and it keeps buckling but i'm not sure how to fix it so i just hope it will snap out of it as i go along. thats all i really can do. from what i've noticed on research ive done. but i sure got a snarky reply on a forum about how they don't know how you could screw it up and it end up wonky like that. i was like geez thanks.

tomorrow i'm babysitting a 8 month from 9 am til 6 pm its good money but i might die. i just hope hes in a good mood. and maybe while he naps i can get a lot of reading done. i'm not sure i want to bring my crocheting with me. since i have to read two books by the 22nd.

anyways thats all i got for now. feel free to comment/email/anything else i'd love to connect with you!

Monday, April 8, 2013

Its a monday that is for sure.

Lets run over everything that has happened. The dog had to be taken to the vet because she cracked a tooth. It will be pulled out this week. Second time shes done this. So we took away the toys she had.

Second thing that has happened. I hurt myself.... I was taking the dog outside to potty before she went to the vet. Sometimes she pisses on the floor at the vet. Well I didn't make it outside as planned. Because I fell out of the front door to the concrete porch. Not sure how I did that but I skinned up on knee kinda stretched out my calf on the same knee. And hurt my foot on the other leg. It hurts sooooo bad. I don't think I broke it but on one side of my foot its super tender. Super embarrassing cause some guy heard my crash and yelled “are you okay” and then it just hurts and thats just pissing me off. I have things to do. I can walk a little bit but I hobble. just hoping its super bruised.

Such an annoying thing. Hope everyone elses monday is going well.

Oh boy what a few days its been.

So last week my monitor blew up. I bought a new one it came on friday. Thursday and friday we had the electrical guys here fixing our old wiring so that was good. But my room was difficult and had some extra time. It was making me all nervous and it was a mess. But its all done. Then I thought my light was going to get fixed. We had a new fixture and then my dad just needed to put it up. That was going to happen yesterday but then he was starting to put it up moved the wire a bit and then part of the ceiling came off. Haha. So now he has to cut a hole and redo the sheetrock because the sheetrock got so brittle with the old light fixture getting so hot and all. So thats another problem. We still have all our stuff out of the storage upstairs so we started going through some of it and repacking/getting rid of some of the stuff. We have a lot of work to do with that. But the upstairs isn't ready for all the stuff to be put back. Oh man its all such a mess. Its also a mess trying to figure out plans for the month. We want to go to the spring fair and the tulip festival. But it takes planning due to serving at church and when the flowers bloom and other stuff. Thats sorta annoying. I am however doing well with crafting I have many plans for some blankets. I am excited. I am doing really bad at reading though. Sad cause i'm super behind with that and writing reviews. Another stupid thing this week. The water will be turned off all day on friday. Sucks I babysit that day and I have to shower WAY ahead of time. Oh well. I just hope that I can get reading done there. Anyways. Thats about it for whats happening right now.
